The opening match of the School Tag Rugby League took place at the European Azerbaijan School! The event began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a welcome speech from our CEO & Director, Francesco Banchini, who wished the participants success.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Mariana Vasileva, Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund Elnur Nasibov, Head of Department of the Ministry of Science and Education Elnur Aliyev, Director of Dunya School Aygun Isayeva, Secretary General of the Rugby Federation Eldar Karimov, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee Toğrul Rahimov, Press Secretary of the National Paralympic Committee Farid Gasimov, Counselor of the Georgian Embassy in Azerbaijan David Chikvaidze, and Director Advisor of EAS, Asif Jahangirov, as well as the Dunya School management team.

Paralympic champions Lamiya Valiyeva (Athletics, two-time Paralympic champion), Orkhan Aslanov (Athletics, two-time Paralympic champion), Said Najafzade (Athletics, Paralympic champion), Imamaddin Khalilov (Parataekwondo, Paralympic champion), and Sabir Zeynalov (Parataekwondo, bronze medalist at the Paralympic Games) delivered motivational speeches to inspire the young athletes.

The opening match between EAS and Dunya School ended in a victory for the Dunya School team. A special shoutout to our amazing PTA – Jeyla Rahimova, Shehla Tagiyeva, and Rasim Gasimov – for their support in making this event such a success!
